I lay in bed with light music playing and slowly imagine a story. I imagine pictures sometimes and work out all of the details in my head. You must do all of this slowly when in a comfortable state. You may find yourself influencing your dreams and getting to sleep faster. sometimes it helps to lay down and rest not sleep but rest, relax befor be sure to set your alarm.
You could take a tylenol PM, just make sure you can still function in the morning, or try taking a hot bath & eating.
I believe in an inexpensive supplement called melatonin.
You can go to your local 24h drugsore and buy something like 100 tabs for around $3.00.
This works fast, it is non-habit forming, and a natural subsance you have in your body.
It should make you sleep.
If your looking for a cure in the mean time it's gona be kinda hard because your body already knows it had some sleep. I would suggest keeping yourself busy untill you feel tired but do not lay in your bed to get tired that is the worst thing. Long term cure. You can look into a natural cure. The Vitamin is called Melatonin and it is a natual way of making you tired. It is the body chemical that makes you tired. You can find it at a Supermarket or Pharmacy try to read some books.books r the best sleeping pills (atleast for me)
so you've already slept your 8 hours, but you know that you'll be exhausted for work tomorrow. if you have about 8 hours before you have to wake up, you can take one benadryl, or tylenol PM. Be careful with those though, because they can give you a bit of a "hangover" in the morning. Not an alcohol-hangover, but leave you feeling still tired when you wake up.
Other herbal options are Melatonin, as mentioned by other respondents, or one that I find to be more potent, is Valerian Root. Both can be found in pill formula at any 24-hour drugstore, or some grocery stores. Neither one of those have the same morning-drag effect that the benadryl or tylenol pm (same ingredient in both), often have.
some white noise in the background can help, as can warm milk, or tea, or reading a really dry, boring book.
Good luck getting some sleep!
