I donated plasma about 7 weeks ago and my hemoglobin is 10.5, is that normal?

Question:
Also my doctor tells me my iron is down, she is calling me anemic. Is all this normal for giving 7 weeks ago?

Answers:
plasma is the liquid part of the blood. plasma does not contain a significant amount of red blood cells, white blood cells or platelets. if you had made a whole blood donation, then they remove red blood cells, platelets and plasma at the same time. red blood cells take about 3 months to fully regenerate. depending on your height and weight, you may be a little anemic if you made a WHOLE BLOOD donation. if not, then no, its not normal cause they only took plasma and your red blood cells aren't removed. so wait after 3 months to see if you are back in shape.
your body should make your levals normal within two weeks. I am also severely anemic. eat a lot of red meat. it seems to help most people
normal for hgb 12-14. Should have returned to normal level before 7 wks.
