For the last month after swimming, my hands go numb and then start tingling. Any ideas?

The water could be too cold, I have the same happening to me when I go kitesurfing and it is not really warm.
What happens is probably that the blood vessels constrict due to the cold conditions so that the body does not lose too much heat. That may make the fingers feel numb. While swimming you have so much going on that you don't feel the numbness.
Once you get out from the water and warm up the blood vessels start opening again and this could cause the tingling feel. The numbness goes sway with it too. For me the numbness is mostly in the fingertips and I warm up before it goes further.
