I had it at 15. It was no fun, but not deadly. Chicken pox can be deadly at any age, but usually isn't. There are medications they can give you to make it easier.

You might talk to your parents and doctor about getting the chicken pox vaccine.

The later you get it the more dangerous it can be for your general health. There is a vaccine out there, talk to your mom and ask her if you can get the vaccine.

Even if you are protected: shingles are an adult form of the chicken pox, where the resicue of them is in the nerve endings. I have had them twice even though I had the chicken pox as a child. I still got the shingles. So go and talk to your parents about getting a vaccine.Good Luck
Heyy. relax! You're not going to die with chicken pox- its relatively 'safe' at any age, especially today. In fact, even people who get it when they are young can get a 'late' form of the disease when they are much older called 'shingles'. The only danger is if you get chicken pox when you are pregnant - coz then it can cause serious diseases in the baby. Also, if a girl gets it later in life, it could -tho rarely - result in infertility. Getting a first attack of chicken pox later in life results usually in a more serious form of the disease. The good news is that now there is a vaccine for chicken pox -- that you can take at ANY age. Its a simple, 3-dose vaccine that prevents you from getting the disease. However, you CAN still get the 'later manifestation' of chicken pox - Shingles. Anyway, even if you DO get chicken pox, there is a drug called 'acyclovir' which can protect you - or result in only a mild form of the disease. So relax! And get yourself vaccinated now.
You should be elated. lol. I'm 19 and I've never had chicken pox either. My older sister got it when she was about 8 years old and even though we slept in the same room, I still did not get it.
