About ticks, the best way to remove them is with steady pulling pressure or the head, they will soon let go, you might loose a little skin. Be sure to clean area well and disinfect it. If it get infected see a doctor.

PS. Lyme's is rare, concentrate on the wound and getting the head out!

It can get infected. Tick heads are designed to keep the blood pouring out the wound, so it won't heal as nicely.

that's not good...it leaves a huge opportunity for lyme's disease and infection....

Worse case scenario..Lyme disease..depending on the type of tick. Least case scenario..bad scar..been there. You might consider using a good bug repellent and diligently checking yourself after being outside.
