why does a 4 year old child get week myopic. Is there any remedy?

Question:

Answers:
Nearsightedness is predominantly caused by genetics. Children inherit a tendency to develop myopia from their parents. The manner in which a person uses their eyes, such as often performing detailed or up-close work, may also have an influence on the progression of myopia.

It is not possible to totally prevent the occurrence of myopia in children. However, there are steps you can take to minimize its effect. Make sure your child is examined early, especially if there is a family history of progressive nearsightedness or other eye conditions.

There is not a remedy that makes your child's un-corrected vision perfect 20/20, but your child's vision can be corrected with eyeglasses and later in life, contact lenses.

It is a tribute to you that this child's vision problem was found before it was a detriment to their education. I got glasses first in Third Grade!
