I don't know how old you are, but any difficulty in swallowing should always be checked out with the doctor. There are a number of things that can cause this. It may not be anything but you should not ignore or try to guess this kind of problem because there is a chance you may have something that needs medical attention.
I would say.if the pain has been with you for some time..more than 24-36 hrs. then don't delay. If you feel there is something that may be stuck down your oesophagus then this requires urgent medical attention also.
Be on the safe side get it checked.
