400 mg Zoloft?

Question:
I weigh 150 lbs and have recently taken 400 mg of Zoloft. Was is the maximum dose, and should I be seeking medical attention?

Answers:
200mg is the maximum dosage for this medication.

your body should filter the excess out with no problems but in the future only take the dosage your doctor has prescribed to you. if you don't have a prescription for this-do not take it...

antidepressants can have serious negative side effects in people that don't need to take it...

drink plenty of water to help your body flush out the excess medication. seek medical attention if you start to have the following symptoms

-nausea or severe vomiting
-heart feels like it's racing (palpitations)
-feeling faint or dizzy

you didn't take an extreme amount over the limit for this medication so you should be ok but make sure to have someone watch you over the next 24 hours.
That's a high dose. My drug guide says that 200 mg is the suggested highest dose. In certain circumstances doctors will perscribe higher doses of drugs for different reasons. It's up to the doctor to make these decisions though. Perscription drugs should always be managed by a doctor. How did you get it without being supervised by a doctor?
