Well, to begin with, it's good you stopped the weed using. What you have often occurs as you are trying to go to sleep or when you wake up, which obviously limits your sleep time. They happen most commonly in the back of your calf.
If this is what you are talking about, then you most likely have what is known as simply leg cramps, only at night. The following may be a reason why you have it:
* Muscle overexertion
* Prolonged sitting
* Dehydration
* Pregnancy
* Diabetes
* Decreased potassium levels
* Neuromuscular disorders, such as Parkinson's disease
* Certain medications, such as albuterol, niacin, diuretics, and some calcium channel blockers and antipsychotic medications
* Alcohol use
For help, walk on the leg(s) that hurt, massage the muscles in your legs and calfs, take a hot bath and apply a cool pack to your leg muscles. You want to drink plenty of fluids during the dayand stretch your leg muscles every day before you go to bed and when you wake up, for 2 to 5 minute intervals.
The following perscriptions can help, if you ask your doctor:
Quinine
Vitamin B-12
Gabepentin
Night cramps often get confused with restless leg syndrome, where your legs feel like you have a million bugs in and on them. It requires different treatment that you should talk to your doctor about.
You may also want to research common muscle pain, Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and circulation problems.
Good luck! Feel better soon.
Contact a homeopath he will solve your problem.
go to a drug store and get some pills called leg cramps
Have blood tests done and check for clotting factors. In the meantime, twist another joint!
Lack of potassium causes leg cramps. Eat bananas - theyre a good source of potassium.
hey matey i make up the butter from stems an leaf make it into a butter rub it into your joints, an aching muscles, no need 2smoke
it use the oil it works great,,you can even buy it in some Chemist an health food shops
You could have restless leg syndrome. Look it up and read about the symptoms. I have had it for about 5 years and it gets worse as you get older. Not even Xanax worked for me. Try rubbing them going up and down it helps.
Me too. I'm 50 years old and have been suffering from this for about 25 years. A full night's sleep is almost impossible. I use a ben-gay
and smoke a joint an hour before bed. It is not perfect but it helps
Iam not sure but i know sevral people who suffer from bad crap and all of them smoke! Smoking clogs arteries and causes blood flow to slow down and the muscle will then lack oxygen and in turn cramp also being un healthy and a lack of exersise or to much exersise can all cause cramp best thing to do...Go to your GP.
I used to get them really bad. Walking around for 10 minutes and stretching my calf muscles by pulling my toes towards my leg were the only things that would ease the pain.
. and then someone told of this little trick where you you pinch yourself between your nose and upper lip just under the septum(?). Sounded very weird to me, but I tried it and it actually helped - and I have absolutely no idea why!
you can also try massaging the area, you might feel this massive knot but after about a week of massaging and stretching

It sounds like you could have the signs of restless leg syndrome or noctournal leg cramps. They are both sepparate issues. But they are hard to distinguish only a specialist can tell you for sure. Also some cramps can be associated with hypothyroidism. Thyroid problems can also cause sleep disruption. This is why you should speak to a neurologist for sure. They can handle both issue, best of luck to you.
cramps may be caused from a number of reasons including: continious sport and activity,growing pains etc. you may think that they only happen at night but it just may be you do not notice them during the day as your body is active and musles are contracted.At night you are usually less active and it gives a chance for your muscles to relax.especially if a muscle or ligament is torn it may be particualy painful for this process.smoking marajuana does not relieve any type of pain except mentally.it is just a way to 'block out the pain'.while concentrating on something else cramps may seem not so painful.try a different approach then smoking.if pain continues i reccomend seeing a specialist.
It may be that you need potassium. Bananas, tomatos, potatos are good sources. You can find potassium supplements on the vitamin shelf in your grocery store. Low potassium causes muscles to cramp. Normal potassium levels keep muscles functioning properly. Too much potassium can be fatal - but it's difficult to overdose on bananas, etc.
My own experience is that a potassium tablet will ease leg cramps within minutes.
You do not tell us what your job is, as you can overuse your leg muscles. And as for smoking 'pot' to relieve the symptoms, you have probably aggravated it! because any muscle damage signalled to the brain, in the guise of pain, will not be interpreted as such! Try and drink a large glass of water before retiring at night, two! if you can! That might lessen the severity of the cramps that you experience. See your doctor for advice and medication perhaps he can lessen the attacks. Hope you find some relief! Have a good day!
u have cramps in legs cos your blood vessels there re not ok. u either have a lack of magnesium or smth is wrong with vessels in itself, like trombosis or smth alike. u have to go to doctor, there re some supplements or surgery for that
I swear you need to go get this med at Walmart called LEGATRIN PM for leg cramps. It takes the pain away and helps you go to sleep. BTW, keep on smoking the weed, it will help with the releif of alot of other health problems like glaucoma, menstrual cramps, back pain, stress, anxiety, alzheimers and more. So get the Legatrin and take a toke for me.
Your question is a difficult one to answer. I have had the same problem in the past and I have been able to stop the cramps. Since you have had this for 25 years - this may not apply to you. I was taking just too too many medications and vitamins. I stopped all my medications and went back on them slowly and the leg cramps did not come back. I went back to my vitamins and then the leg cramps came back. I changed the vitamins to a multi-chewable vitamins and started taking them in the morning instead of night and the cramps left. My Dr recommended taking Calcium. You made a smart move in giving up marijuana because that could eventually cause you to have Asthma - which is worse than leg cramps. - I hope I helped you some.
Sounds similar to restless legs syndrome. may want to look into it.
good for stopping with the pot, take potassium pills daily drink more water and stretch like you would before a run. That should help, bananas have lots of potassium
toke many bongs or buckets lol
