If you have excess bone growth in your big toe after bashing it, will the growth continue?

Question:
or will it have to be removed?

Answers:
When a bone is broken, calcium forms a callus around the break to in effect mend the break, this produces a lumpy area around the break and will keep depositing calcium which will continue to deposit and erode until it becomes healed and more normal

Other Answers:
My other half was injured along the area where most people get bunions, from being dragged along by his car someone was trying to steal.
After the initial healing process it became larger and uncomfortable to wear shoes, so he had to have it surgically removed. This was only a day case, involving opening up the old scar scraping the excess bone off and sewing him up again (He was asleep throughout this).
He is fine now and hasn't suffered any further problems from it, the cars another story !!
