Hi usually with a scaphoid fracture you dont normally need no sort off physio at all, usually only when you have had a screw inserted into the fracture you sometimes do as you are in plaster a little longer. So its no to that question.A splint you some times are given by the plaster room thats if they think you need it for extra support for a further few wks,but obviously they didnt so they must feel you are ok with out this,if you are worried about this at all you can get in touch with the plaster room or physiotherapy dept they may be able to help you there,or go see your GP he can refer you to the appliance dept in the hospital they also issue splints etc but you need a referral first. If no luck there i think boots sell them, but make sure you get the scaphoid type splint with the thumb included.Any other problems email me. Good Luck
i would expect that if the doc wanted you to excerise, they would have told you, and arranged physio appointments........ thats what they did when the same thing happened to me, although it may have been a lot more complex, because i had an operation on my hand at same time
