Science book for children?

My 7 year old is very curious about how the body works, not just the usual things but how the nerves all work together to make your hands move etc. I have tried explaining but really struggling! Is there a book (with English spellings) that someone could recommend that could explain things simply and clearly?

go online Ebay (where else) and get him a copy of the human body. its fantastic..you can do little things, like make the heart beat faster, and slower...and of course you can make skeletons dance..
