What is the least painful way to get physically hurt?

Question:
My youngest neice asked me this and it confused the marbles out of me.
I was trying to tell her about the relativity of pain, but she doesn't really understand. She gets hit in the face with soccer ball and doesn't even flinch but cries her eyes out when she pokes herself. Yeah, weird little kid, she's a lot like me.
Anyways, I need an answer that a six year old little girl can understand.

Answers:
I'm a clumsy old left-handed guy living in a right-handed world.
I have been hurt every way you could imagine, and the least painful injuries that require medical attention are cuts.
Getting cut by a very sharp blade looks terrible, but there is normally very little actual pain.
The sight of a bad cut freaks people out, but I'd reather be cut a dozen times than get burned once.
Burns are the worst!
Surprisingly, a broken ankle doesn't hurt nearly as much as you might think. After the initial shock sets in, a broken bone goes numb, unless you try to move.
Tell her that sometimes when you aren't thinking about pain, it won't hurt as bad when you get injured. Like, when she is playing soccer, she is distracted and so she doesn't think about the pain hurting. But, when she pokes herself in the eye, she has nothing to distract her.
The shock of getting hit in the face probably sheilded the pain..or the ball being a wider area of impact didn't aggravate any nerves.while poking into the skin hit a nerve.
Thats why accupuncture is painless(they know where to "poke") for the most part and getting a tattoo can be pretty painful(random injections).
