Is there a medical/mental condition, besides a fever, that makes you feel cold all the time?

Question:
I almost always feel cold. the rest of my family will be prefectly comfterable, and i will be bundled up shivering. im shivering right now, in jeans and a thick hoodie. theyre not normal consistant shivers either, they're spastic and choppy, last two or three seconds each, and radiate from my spine. theyre really hard shivers, not just little light ones. people can see me shaking i'm cold before almost everyone else is, i've only not been uncomfterably chilly once this week.

Can someone please help me with this, because the one solution i've found isnt going to be useable, because its not socially acceptable, and im tired of shivering.

Answers:
Endocrine disorders can do so too, but they are much less common. Environmental exposure (eg. being immersed in cold water for a prolonged period of time) can make you shiver and feel cold (duh).

You should see a doctor if you think you have a fever.

You should see a doctor if you think you have hypothyroidism or hypoadrenalism. They are potentially more troublesome than a simple infection that can be treated with antibiotics, or even a viral illness which just needs supportive measures.
Sounds like you have an infection of some sort. Go get it checked out before it gets worse.
Anemia could be an answer. Iron deficiency. Talk to your physican. Do some research on webmd.com, you can type in a symptom and see all the different problems that could be related or causing it.

Good luck!
Thin blood, anemia which is low iron (try eating more red meat or taking a supplement. Smoking can cause it too
thyroid problems too!
Low blood pressure can make you feel cold, so can poor circulation. My mom is always cold due to the first, as is my aunt. My father's feet are always cold due to the second but I'm not sure if that could make you shiver and cold all over. You can also shake and feel cold due to low blood suger, I do it sometimes when I haven't eaten in a while or right after I eat (you can have this condition without being diabetic) Most, I agree with several other posts, ask your doctor if its bothering you.
hypothyroidsim
