What should I do if I have anemia?
Question:
Answers:
Don't take iron without a doctor's okay. It's a simple blood test to determine if you have anemia and what type of anemia you may have, which may influence treatment. They would also want to check you for hypothyroidism with a TSH test.
i also have low iron i went to GNC and got iron pills.but you want to make sure you do have low iron.it can cause you to be tired
I'm wondering how you were diagnosed with anemia if you haven't been to a doctor. Regardless, a doctor will be able to tell you what kind of anemia you had. Iron pills are used for a common type of anemia, iron deficiency anemia. He'll tell you what you need to do, and what dosage of pills you need to take, if any.
Because there are more than one kind of anemia, you should see a doctor for labs to determine which kind, if any, you have. It may not be anemia at all and at this point you don't know what you have. There are other disorders that are associated with the symptoms you describe.
Of course go and see your doctor,s/he will tell you to have a diet rich in iron, the dark green leafy veggies such as spinach, kale, broccoli etc are very good.
You can take iron supplements or eat foods rich in iron. Foods like spinach, liver, and red meats are a good source.
For the average person you get B12 shots from you doctors. Pills are constipating. It may not be anemia tho.see a doctor for this.
you should see your doctor,if they think you need more iron they will tell you how much to take.its better than guessing how much to take, taking too much or too little can be bad for you.
