Answers:
You have a pharmacist and a dispenser.

You medication has to be checked by the parmacist, but the dispenser can package it.

It also depends on how many scripts have to be made up, and it's normally first come, first served.

your english doesnt make much sense
It is so annoying. I cant understand why they take so long.
It takes so long because the medicine has to be checked and rechecked to make sure you are given the exact medicine on the prescription if it wasn't checked so stringently then you could get a medicine by mistake that could kill you. This is why the prescription has to be checked it is exactly what is on the prescription & some medicines have to be checked against other medicines you have had recently as many medicines react badly with others
I get this one an awful lot. "Why does it take x minutes to fill my prescription? All you have to do is count 30 pills..."

What if I, the pharmacist, just turned around, grabbed a bottle, and handed it to you... there's 30 pills in there.. not sure what it is, but we sure got you 30 pills! (I'd probably lose my license to practice and get sued, but heck, it sure was quick).

We take that 15-20-30 minutes for a number of reasons:

#1 - Others are there before you also waiting for their medications. If you have a script for a pain killer and are in obvious pain, we'll of course rush the prescription thru.

#2 - We have to sometimes verify prescriptions with doctors, either due to a problem with the prescription, or just to ensure that a medication was correctly prescribed.

#3 - Your insurance carrier may holding up your claim and we need to call them to sort it out. Insurance problems happen more often then you think.

#4 - We're there to make sure you're getting the right prescription. We need to verify it was filled correcly and that its labeled correctly.
15 minutes you can count your self lucky, its anything up to an hour and a half in ours .i asked our pharmacist the same as you and got the same response
