Answers:
It's cleaner and more crisp.

Viva COLORADO!
Because it wholesome, clean, crisp and invigorating.

VIVA Oregon!
more tree's = more oxygen
Is it?
Sometimes higher elevations can be hard on people.
i think (i really don't know) its because the pollutants in air are heavier than most air molecules so settle in the air at ground level. But when you're on a mountain, your altitude is greater and i think this allows you to breathe the air without so many pollutants. Hope this helps.
Mountains tend to be covered in trees. Trees give off oxygen. Pollution that is heavier than air would tend to settle in valleys, away from mountains. It would tend to be hard to build large factories in the mountains as it would be hard to find enough flat ground on which to build.

Most mountain towns are on the side of small. Big cities are more polluted.

More than just the air, mountains tend to have a lot of resort towns, places people go for vacations. This results in a slower, more laid back pace, especially in the off season when there is nobody there. The mountains are great for rest and relaxation, and that is good for recovering from illness.
