Don' t you think it would be better if we knew when we die?
Question:
Answers:
There would be definitely some advantages, but overall, no.
I had a great friend on mine pass away last year. Would we have done more together if we had know? Yes, of course. But we would have also dreaded the time knowing it would soon be over.
Think of the about the number of idiotic things that people do now. How much more there would be if the fear of death was not there? Someone could drive like a mad man through traffic knowing that he would not be killed.
It depends on the person, but I have to admit many people take life for granted until they find out they don't have much time left.
You must live like you are dying everyday, and appreciate every day you have, even the bad ones (they are character building)
I dont think so. How could you live your life knowing you are going to die when your are 20. So lets say we do, you will like many people will say take advantage of everything you.go bunje jumping whatever, but when you lie to sleep at night and every nite thats all of what your going to be thinkin about . The day i die, the days passing, the years flying by and then wondering where when what will happen. That would drive someone insane. Like the guy above, live life like this is your last day. If you are going to die today at least you could leave this world with everything you have done right. Each day you wake up is a blessing from God, another chance to be a better person. And when you go to bed at night think about everything you did today.
I wouldn't want to know when I was to die. I would worry myself to death..
no, i think its better if its a mystery. otherwise people would be really paranoid n do crzy things sayin "hey im gonna die tomorrow!"
it would be kos! n not the cool singer dude.
no..part of the wonder of life is that you don't know alot of what will happen in your future.that's why i can go to the liquor store and know that my bottle of Jack Daniels will be there for me tomorrow.and if not.then my legacy will live on in someone else's shot glass. Cheers!
No, I don't think it would be better. We would live our lives trying to avoid the inevitable.
No. If we knew, there would be no sense of urgency to live life until it was too late.
its better not to know, then you will just sit there and count off the days
No, it wouldn't; but if I knew then I was going to die then I would get approved for as much credit cards as I could then spend money like crazy. Paris is nice this time of year.
I totally and absolutely do NOT want to know.
No. Think about it..you would daily face people that knew they had a few days left. With no time to pay the price for wrong behaviour, there would be chaos from those prone to violence or illegal activities.
A main preventative to crime is knowing there will be a penalty if caught.
I would not want to be in a crowd in downtown Manhattan or Atlanta, or pittsboro kentucky, for that matter, knowing there were a couple dozen people that knew they had nothing to loose for their behaviour.
To top that off, you would also know when you were going horizontal and it would certainly diminish your drive and optimism as the days grew short..
Ignorance in this case is bliss
I'll admit that it would take away the horrible shock of finding out you have a disease, or a deadly STD, that would shorten your life. Plus, it would give you plenty of time to prepare and to say your goodbyes, and I think less people would take their life for granted. Although, many people may intead begin to take their life for granted; more people may smoke, or do other self-damaging things, if they knew they had a guaranteed amount of decades left to live.
Besides that, it would be impossible to give you a set date of death, because you make choices during their lives that affect the way you live - from your very first day out of the womb, to the exact day you die.
Some people do know when they're going to die. Look at people on death row. They usually come to terms with the idea. They make peace with God. They talk it over with a man of the cloth. They're usually quite calm at the time of death.
I don't think I would want to know though. Then again I've lived my entire adult life believing I'd die young. I didn't think I'd see 30 but I did. I knew for a fact I wouldn't see 40 but I did. There's no freaking way I'll see 50. But I'm afraid I just might. Would my life be any different if I knew when I was going to die? Without a doubt! But imagine how society would be if everyone knew when everyone else was going to die. Geesh, I picture an out of control society. A society where the ones who will die young are partying their butts off. Then again we already have that.
hmm..thats a toughie. but i think if we knew we'd just go all crazy or if we knew wed end up doing seomthing that would end up changing the course of our death anyways
for sure
I don't think that we should know just when we are to leave this earth. There are plenty of problems that could come with that situation if we did. I would like to believe that after we die we
could still know what is going on with our loved ones, but i'll have to be gone before i will know that, and i would like to stick around for a while yet.
