Drank too Fast?

Question:
I am not a heavy drinker and I only drink on occasions. Last night I had one Smernoff (spelling?) and shortly after my stomach hurt along with my chest. It also felt like I had somethign stuck in my throat. I drank the drink faster than usual. Could that have caused my stomach and chest pain? I woke up with the same feeling. It's not as bad but it is still there. Any suggestions? THanks!

Answers:
It is possible you have a problem that I have had with drinking. I get acid reflux alot when I drink. Next time try taking a prilosec a few hours before hand and see if that prevents it. Read up on acid reflux and see if you suffer from some of the symptoms.
Drink Dank Dark Beer Slowly stay away from chemical cocktails.
If you were in a bar that allows smoking and you don't go there often, it may be the smoke that is bothering your stomach and esp. throat. Just a thought.
1 cooler caused you chest pain?

I really doubt it had anything to do with alcohol.
could be. i mean ya say that you dont drink that often. so if your system isnt used to the alcohol even though smirnoff isnt that strong, you could still be feeling the side effects of bringing in too much at once and way too fast.
sometimes vodka even in what you drank upsets the throat and stomach,. some cannot drink it. and if you drank on an empty stomach sometimes causes the upset.
I think its just thats like drinking a soda super fast..i think it hurt your tummy cuz all the sugar and carbination in it..maybe?
It sounds to me like you were having a bout of severe acid indigestion. I can't drink any mixed drinks that are acidic (like orange juice/grapefruit juice) nor can I drink too many with cola as the hangover is nasty. But that is my blood sugar.

If it happens again, try a Tums, should work.
if you're talking about the smirnoff twisted (flavored malt beverages), i know plenty of people that get sick from that. it's carbonated like soda, and way too sweet. if it's something your body is not accustomed to, it will fight it. just drink water and get rest..and don't drink sweet drinks anymore!
Its called heart burn or some people may call it indigestion ..

Mad experience in this department. fruity drinks tend have alot of acidty to them.. next time slow down or take some tumms..
Was the drink carbonated? If it was, then you had carbonation bubbles built up, and the air got trapped. Drink a soda and try to burp. I had the same problem with drinking beer some time ago.
