How do you know if a broken blood vessel in the eye isn't something more serious?

To answer your question, you'll know it isn't serious because it doesn't affect the vision, doesn't hurt, doesn't itch, doesn't cause drainage and resolves fairly quickly by itself. I get these a lot and nearly always in the same eye. She'll look great for Halloween.
normally a broken vessel doesn't hurt and gos away rather fast, like within a few days. If it is more serious it could become painful with swelling, blurred vision and in serious cases headaches. If her eye doesn't appear to be getting better in a few days then it would be a good idea to have it checked out just in case. If the eye starts to show signs of drainage, either yellowish or green then there is an infection and she will need medication from the doctors.
Welll, the issue is not the broken blood vessel which will not hurt anything as long as it is not IN her field of vision. The question IS: why is it broken? Was she sneezing, rubbing her eyes, looking for a contact, does she have dry eyes?
Why do I care.broken blood vessels in the eye for no obvious reason are often the first sign people get of high blood pressure.
