does any one know how to measure body temperature?

Question:
no putting a finger into A S S

Answers:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the most accurate way of getting body temp is up the anus. However DO NOT!! attempt this yourself unless you are a trained nurse as you could do some serious damage. If you are not ill then oral should suffice, failing that stop being such a hypocondriac and just get on with life.

Other Answers:
Well that takes all the fun out of it.
Anal thermometer is the best reading...it is painless. Just lube the thermometer a bit for easier insertion.
an anal thermometer is more accurate !
Go to Walgreen to buy a thermometer and put it under the armpit and wait for 30", then take it out and read it, then you have your body temterature.
There are a variety of ways to take a temperature - oral, axillary (armpit), otic (ear) and anal. Typically anal is the most acurate and will usually have a reading about 1 degree F higher than oral. Axillary and otic temperatures are less accurate. Axillary temps will be about a degree cooler. If you are at home and taking an adult's temperature then oral should suffice. There area variety of thermometers available at drug stores. In a child (especially a baby) anal is the preferred method but can be hard/uncomfortable/embarrasing especially for older children. All you need to do is lube the tip of the probe and insert it into the anus and squeeze the cheeks together until the temperature is read. Hope that helps.
There are a variety of thermometers, but if you dont have one and you need to know if the person is really hot or just a little hot, place the (palm side) of your wrist on the persons forehead. It is more sensitive then your hand and you will get a better idea of the temp.
