Men's Foot Problem (cracked heels)?

Question:
My hubby has REALLY bad feet. The skin on his heels has apparently lost the ability to shed, so it stays and stays. (the doctor told him it was as result of hours working in a car wash when he was younger) We have tried many expensive creams, pumice stones etc We really cant afford weekly professional pedicures for him right now.

I am not kidding when I say he has petrified skin on his heels less that a week after his last appointment with the pedicurist. It cracks deep cracks and breaks off. He asked me to cut a piece off the other day and the sheers I use for cutting chicken bones would barely cut it. He cant feel his heels either.

Has anyone else had this and have any tips? We have tried professional shoes, expensive (and cheap) creams etc. I am leery of doing a home pedicure and cutting too much skin off or making it worse. We need some solution because his skin actually leaves cuts on my legs when we sleep. (the jagged edges)

Answers:
Just before bed, try a using a foot file and then soak before scrubbing with a foot scrub (needs to be course) to remove any skin, and then apply a liberal dose of Eulactol Heel Balm, or use Vaseline and pull on some socks to prevent bedding from becoming yucky.

Apply another dose of Balm or Vaseline again in the morning, and repeat foot scrub again each night, for about a week, drop back scrub to once a week. Continue with the balm/Vaseline twice a day.

I use the salt scrub on my feet, in summer as they become so dry and hard, with huge cracks.

Hope this helps a little.
Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) after washing rub this in night and morning, does the trick. I used to suffer with this as well.
dont know if you live by ther sea but walking on the beach in the surf is great for helping the feet good exercise too
He should soak his feet to try to soften the area, then rub in the vaseline or whatever and always put socks over the top. He should always wear socks and not go bare-footed. I am a diabetic and used to have this problem till I decided to fix it. Avon has a really good callus cream, but he should use it every day, there are also callus and cracked feet creams you can buy. I wish you luck, you can get rid of it, just have to be persistant.
have him soak his feet in Clorox for about 15 min. or so. if its too strong mix it with some water., the clorox will eat the outer layer of skin, and it will naturally begin to peal off. do this once every two months or so. as needed it should cure his feet problem. more then likely it was caused by his feet being wet all the time and there fore causing a fungus to grow and dry out the skin. the clorox will also take care of the fungus. my feet used to crack open and bleed. until I did this with clorox, and I havent had any problems since.
You can have him soak his feet in warm water, immediately scrub with a pumus stone. Apply Vitamin E and rub in. Never use anything sharp to cut rough skin especially if skin is cracked and bleeding. Infection can occur. You can use the capsules or pure 100% Vitamin E oil. Continue for as long as needed. This will soften and moisturize the skin. It is inexpensive and it works. My dermatologist suggested I use it to reduce the colour of a scar. After using it for one week the scar was less noticeable. Vit. E is also good for wrinkles , stretch marks and chapped skin. Any drug store will carry this product. Any name brand will do as long as it is PURE or 100%. If the ingredients say contains or added do not buy.
