what good is milled flaxseed and how do you use it?

Question:

Answers:
Get yourself a coffee grinder. Put in three tablespoons of flax seed and mill it till it's finely ground. Add it to your favorite smoothy, or any drink. Good on salads or with cottage cheese, etc. When it's milled, your body can digest it and extract the health fats. Using pre-milled flax seed loses it's nutrient value when exposed to air. Pre-milled is good as it's convenient, but freshly milled is the best. Just be sure your grinder can do an adequate job of making a fine ground flax. A little more course will do some good for the intestinal tract and still reap the benefits of good overall health.

Other Answers:
Flaxseed is a great source of protein, omega fats, vitamin D and B and a great source of natural fiber. It has a nutty flavor so once ground it can be added to cereal, yogurt, salad, smoothies, and lots more! I buy mine pre-ground so it has to be stored in the fridge. I found that if I bought the whole seed and tried to grind it myself, the coffee grinder wasn't fine enough so I got a lot of whole seeds. Not a bad thing, just harder to absorb all the goodness if it isn't ground completely. So look for pre-ground flax. It will give you softer hair and smoother skin. It is really great stuff!

It is healthy for you, I have only had the oil, but it has so many wonderful benefits, it reduces cholesterol, it gives you your omega 3
acids, you can use the oil, the seeds or their is a capsule you can buy, it is highly recommended.
