Dissolvable stitches?
Question:
Answers:
Although the stitch material is meant to be absorbed by the body, in areas where the skin is thin- like on the ear, it sometimes just doesn't all absorb. The body reacts to what remains like it would a splinter, and gradually pushes it out of the body. So long as it isn't showing signs of infection, you don't really need to do anything. Eventually it will be either completely absorbed or kicked out. Sometimes it takes a bit to happen, either way. If it starts poking out, you can trim up the bit or have a doctor do it for you, or give it a quick tug and it may even come out. If a tug hurts, trim it and leave it be. Eventually it will go away and meantime it won't hurt you at all.

i had ear surgery about 10 years ago. had the same problem with the stitches. i just left them. they went away after a while.
if it bothers you, ask your dr. to take it out or you'll keep messing with it and it will fester. . otherwise if you can leave it alone, leave it alone.
Just call your dr's office and ask.
You could go to the doc for advice. I think you could have it taken out if its bothering you so much.
