How long to pass a 3 mm Kidney Stone?

Question:
In an unrelated issue, I had a CT scan done. Everything was ok, but it revealed 2 - 3mm kidney stones in my right kidney. I have had them before about 7 and 8 years ago, one in each kidney but I never got hte measurements. I am unsure if a 3mm stone is large or small. Is it possible for me to pass it without feeling it? I feel fine and have no pain so I don't know if the stones is still there in my kidney or I have passed them. Is it possible to pass them both at the same time? How long can a stone be in a kidney without it moving?

Answers:
I get kidney stones at least once a yr. 3mm is very small so you should be able to pass it in a few days or maybe a week, drink lots of lemon juice if you can or mix it with some water, it may help dissolve it. i have had 13mm stones before, those are the ones to worry about. had to have those broken up

I had a kidney stone approx the same size and the doc had me try to pass it for about two weeks. I couldn't pass it so they zapped it and it turns to like dust and you pee that out. The part that mainly hurt was they put a stint inside me. I doubt that you could pass them w/out knowing.
