Has anyone ever heard of Chronic Thrombotic Microangiopathy?

Question:
What is it exactly... any cure ... any information

Answers:
Murray W is not quite right about the definition. He seems to be defining thrombocytopaenic purpura, not CTM.
CTM could be inherited or it could be acquired .Certain people produce antibodies (anti-phospholipids) against their own cells and these attack the cells of the affected organ, usually the kidney. Drugs like interferon have also been implicated in causing this.
lt is also most commonly seen in cases of transplants, tissue rejection,HIV infection or Lymphoproliferative disorders like Leukaemia.
What happens is that blood clots form in the small vessels of the organ, mostly the kidney -in the capillaries and arterioles.
lt usually affects kidney function.
Cures? We-ell,anti-coagulant therapy helps a lot,but definitive cure would depend on the cause. But there are a lot of available options.

Other Answers:
It is a blood disorder characterized by low platelets, low red blood cell count (caused by premature breakdown of the cells), abnormalities in kidney function, and neurological (nervous system) abnormalities.
