ice it for 24 hours(not straight) to help relieve any swelling, then moist heat to soften and losen up the muscle. after heating gentle massage of the area. you can do mild stretches to the side or forward, which ever way will produce a stretch of the area.
you do not want to stretch to the point of pain though, just small movements just to the point of before pain. do the stretches several times a day after moist heat and massage if someone is nice enough to give you one.
