How long will lower back pain last?

Question:
Last sunday I was helping a coworker load some drywall onto a shelf at work. We were doing it pretty quickly, and it was heavy, and I know I twisted something. I didn't have any pain until the next day, though. The pain is the worst when I am sitting. Once I stand up, as long as I don't twist or move oddly, I don't feel anything. It's localized in a line like right above my tailbone.
The sucky thing is this week I started a night job loading trucks at UPS as well, and I can definitely feel the pain increase when I am lifting boxes.
I can't quit the new job or take time off yet, the pain isn't severe or debilitating, but I'm wondeirng what I can do to help recovery.

if you know a 'GOOD' chiropractor....I highly stress GOOD one with tons of references then go get looked at.

There is no telling by mere speculation what is your condition. For examply you could have slipped a disk and the pain will worsen as the tightened muscles now will rework and relax themselves in the near future. But thats an odd/worse case scenario. Maybe you see it as not affording to be able to miss this job you just started. but what you seriously cannot afford to do is sacrifice your health or put your lower back at risk...even for UPS! I know it sucks...make sure you fill out an injury slip and notify your supervisor. make sure you fit yourself with a proper lifting belt. never twist when lifting...use your legs no matter how odd or alien a movement or uncomfortable it feels dip. pull into your body and stand. take baby steps when rotating...especially important now that you already injured yourself!!
make sure to follow ALL safety measures there. I am sure UPS is squared away enough to cover you in the event something really bad has happened and if your supervisor is any kind of decent human being might even demand you take a day or two off 'no worries'.
you can print this and give it to him/her. get it notorized. this is good advice! time off for injury is far different than taking your kids to uncle fuddys amusement park. ok? dont be bullied. respect yourself and know whats right. adhere to what is right even when it sucks and youll be better off.
Don't go to quacks, they will make it worse. You need to see a dr whatever the pressures are. It is clear that you depend on your body for your livelihood and you cannot afford to mess with your back. Even if you can't take time off now without losing your job, you will be able to get another job, but if you destroy your back you may find yourself looking at a lifetime on welfare. It may not be serious now, but if left untreated will get worse. It sounds as if you may have a bulging disk and this should be taken seriously.
