Ok, once and for all; BLISTERS: pop it, leave it alone, or baby it?

Question:
Also, is there different things to do if you get the blister from a burn, or from working hard. (With overuse of a shovel, how i got mine and inspired this question)

Answers:
leave it you could make a scar. But if you just can't leave it alone heat a needle and poke it to drain the fluid don't tear the skin

Other Answers:
DO NOT break the blister. You run the risk of infection. If it opens on it's own, trim away the excess skin and cover it with a bandaid.

Use something sharp and pointy to poke a little hole in it and let the fluid out, but do not tear the skin off. This will reduce the pressure and still keep it covered from the air, so it should not hurt any, and will heal quickly. You may need to release fluid from it several times, but this is the best way to go. I do this and my blisters never hurt and they heal quickly

Leave it alone, it will heal itself. If it breaks ahead of time & raws skin is exposed, cover with a band-aid. Get some Lanacane, it stops burn pain & whether or not it was caused by a burn, there might be some pain to it if the tender skin beneath is exposed. Lanacane spray is great to have around in the summer time. It depends, what's the objective?

Objective: Open festering sore . monkey with it as much as possible, pop it, rub it in sewage.

Objective: quick recovery .. cover it, don't open it leave it alone.
