Would broken ribs heal on their own properly?

Question:
I a person could get to a doctor for a while. Would the rib be able to heal properly?

Answers:
Yes, but it a long and painful process. The medical treatment these days is exactly that, unless it is a compound fracture that comes through the skin, painkillers and bed rest are the only thing. They will heal on their own, but they sometimes will always hurt some the rest of your life.
it depends on the break. like if it was really bad, probably not. but if it was just a small fracture, probably.
If cracked yes if broken not that much. Because the tissue rips pretty much and you have to go to a doctor to fix. If it cracks then that can heal on it's own but if it breakes then you need to go to the doctor immediatly to have surgery or it can collapse into the lung and pierce it and then you can die, or TO whover has the broken rib or if it's just a question. That's my answer.
Doctors do not do anything for broken ribs except to make sure they are not puncturing lungs and give pain medication.
They will heal on their own if your lung is not punctured. It takes a long time (up to 3 months) and it is very painful. If your lung is punctured you will have breathing difficulties and you have internal bleeding. These things required a doctors attention.
When in doubt go to the emergency room. The hospital has to treat you and you can always make payments
Hope you feel better soon.
you need to see a doctor, you can't be sure if the break is in alignment, at least go to the e.r. for an x-ray.you can have further problems down the road if you do not take care of this properly.
