Sleep Problems?

Question:
I often have trouble getting to sleep. I just lay in bed for 2 hours until i finally fall asleep. It is an annoying problem because it means i get less sleep than i would if i could get to sleep faster. I don't know what i can do, and i don't want to take sleeping pills. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answers:
TRY SOME "NYQUILL NIGHTTIME MEDICINE" TAKE A SHOT BEFORE GOING TO BED, AND YOU'LL SLEEP LIKE A BABY. DON'T USE IT FOR TOO LONG, BECAUSE YOU'LL GET ADDICTED TO IT AND THEN IT WON'T HAVE ANY AFFECT. LIKE WITH ANY MEDICATION, BE CAREFUL HOW YOU USE IT-- DON'T ABUSE IT.
before you go to bed eat cherries but then they are not in season so drink warm milk don't use physical activities to make you tired. ie excercise
My mother has insomnia too, so your not alone. When you have insomnia, you have lots of things on your mind. Your body is restless through the night. Are you worried? Are you stressed? Those are questions that will cause insomnia. This is something you and your doctor will need to discuss. My mom went to the doctor, and she's getting much better. Your doctor will prescribe to you. If you don't, best to be active on a day, and keep away from stress things. Work causes stress, so take a day off possibly.
TVs help me fall to sleep. try it.
You may also have sleeping problems if you get up late. For instance, if you wake up at 6am every morning you have a better chance of going to sleep around 10pm or whatever time you go to bed. So waking up earlier can also help and it also energizes you and it seems as though the day is longer (from my experience). Reading before you go to bed also makes you tired. Even thinking about what you did that day and playing a mental video in your head.
Try some homeopathy--coffea cruda or aconitum. They are, in general, good for run of the mill sleep problems.

DO NOT take them night after night after night after night.

2x-3x a week max. After that, consider seeing a professional homeopath OR an acupunturist.

You may also have a deeper problem going on than just sleeplessness. (is there anything in particular that happened just as your period of sleeplessness began?)
