Is there a surgical procedure for correcting a flat foot?

Question:

Answers:
Actually, wear shoes that have high arches. That is what they made me do in the Air Force. The arch in the feet is flexible, and will take shape over a period of time.

Other Answers:
I don't believe so. I have flat feet and have read that it is because the certain muscles that make the arch are not present.
I've not been told so. I do have them but wear arch support in my sneakers to help my feet and it helps A LOT!
"Surgery can help children who have painful flat feet or whose feet are causing major problems with walking. Because the foot is made of many bones, ligaments and muscles, there are many different types of operations. Surgery may help some but not all symptoms. Surgery is often delayed until a child has finished (or almost finished) growing."

I'm sure there is.They can do pracyically anything today. But,if it isnt bothering you I wouldnt concider an operation. It could be expensive and painfull. But,if you just want it to be like everyone else's..most hospitals will have a nurse you can contact to find out everything you need to know. But,make sure that having flat feet dont make you special first!Good-luck!
not sure of a medical proceedure(besides you would have to be off your feet for awhile and it would be painful) anyway.the best treatment would be to see a podiatrist and have him mold your feet for orthotics. these are shoe inserts molded to the shape of your feet and they will push your arch when they are in your shoes and when you are walking properly align your feet, knees hips and back. your feet are your bodys foundation and if the foundation is off the so is the rest of your frame which can cause knee, hip and back pain.

worked 5 years for a podiatrist.
