What do you do to motivate yourself when your feeling low?

Question:
I am disabled and dont do a great deal with myself, i need to get motivated and do things..

Answers:
Without knowing the nature of your disability, it's difficult to advise a specific success strategy. In general, the greatest enemy of self-esteem is self-pity. You and I may have valid reasons for being unhappy with our lot in life, but it is self-defeating to entertain these thoughts.

Who needs you? Who could use the sound of your voice, a kind letter or e-mail, or the touch of your hand? Are people unfriendly towards you because of your disability? I know of many little creatures slated for destruction at the local Humane Society that would love to see your face. Are there others with your disability that may benefit from your life experiences? Have you experienced any medical success that can be shared?

It's not unusual for a person walking through a valley to chronicle their life, only to find that many others, sometimes millions, will pay to hear their story. Keep a journal. Who knows?

As much as I hate slogans, I think this one may be important to you: "To the world, you may be just a person.but to a person, you may be the whole world." Who needs you today? Let them know you care, and watch your "low" convert to "high" that very moment.

Other Answers:
pray for an Epiphany

i think that why i am feeling low ten compare it with the situations of oters who feel low and you will find that your's reason is more silly and think of the world so big &this is only a small incident. I start praying more about the situation. I also try to read and listening to motivating books and websites. Try to surround yourself with positive people and always remember that someone else is in worse condition so we really can't feel sorry for ourselves.

Sending you a big hug!

I read inspirational literature, articles, and testimonies. Reading the sacred texts of ones religious tradition helps. Prayer and meditation help also.

Forcing oneself to get moving in spite of feelings is a key. Once you get going, you start to feel better.

I think of my problem five years ago, realize they are ridiculous, and tell myself that my problems from today will be ridiculous, to me, in five years. Sort of encourages me to plough on. Listen to music, or go for a swim.

dont count it as a 'disability' call it just that one of yr organs is simply not very active.
to get motivated is no big thing, but STAYING motivated is difficult.I am too going through a tough time now regarding my career decision, but I have placed myself fully on an entity called GOD. Just have faith in Him ,never think you are useless, just look forward to making others ,your parents happy. You feel this warmth from within.
You may also try your hand at writing. What are you good at? DO IT!
I maintain a journal of all my good deeds of the day,at the end of the day when you look at it,you feel you have accomplished something BIG and not let it go waste. You earn love of people whom you make happy, thats enough to keep you motivated!
SO KEEP YR HEAD UP AND SHINE THROUGH THE DAY,
YOU WILL DEFINATELY BE A CHAMP THIS WAY!
