I have insomnia... HELP!!!?

Question:
I cannot get to bed at night. Period. It's 5:09am right now where I'm at, and I'm wide awake. I do this pretty much every night. I'm up until even 6 or 7 am! I never get to bed before 2:00am. If I do, I lay wide awake for hours just staring and restless.
I just finished rearranging the living room!
The really bad thing about this is I'm a mother of two small children so I don't have the energy, patience or desire to spend special one-on-one time with them or take care of myself or the house during the day. This is literally killing me! Even my doctor's don't know what to do for me cuz I'm breastfeeding and can't take sleeping pills of almost every kind. Also, the computer is my biggest weakness right now, but since I"m a stay at home mom it's my only link to the outside world! HELP!!

Answers:
Try working out..it did miracles for me. You are stressed out, but cannot channel your energy right. Find out what's troubling you. Are you a single mother or does your mate get home late? Maybe you are unconsciously afraid to fall asleep and so your body is alert - just in case anything happens...

you could either read a book or watch a boring movie while in bed. when your kids are in bed-- do not get online at all.
I've found that a supplement called 5HTP, a derivative of tryptophan, helps me get to sleep surprisingly easier in that same situation of staying up all night, every night. You can find it in any nutrition store or in walmart or kmart in the vitamin and supplement section.
get rid of your computer and you might be able to fall asleep...
im in the same boat im a mother of 2 kids with autism and a stay home mom and i just cant sleep im so tired but cant sleep i think at 11pm i start think about all that has to be done and worrying etc,and so many things on my mindyour just burnt out our jobs are alot of work and men do think they are im loosing my sanity well if you ever want to talk email is xmasnicole@yahoo.com
try drinking a warm glass of milk and then take a warm shower-this will help to calm you down and relax your body physically.

once you are in bed-stay there unless you have to use the bathroom or one of the kids wakes up. if you get up again for any reason-it will cause your heartrate to increase-which makes you more alert. by staying in bed, you relax your heartrate and blood pressure which will eventually help you to sleep....

i'm surprise with two little ones at home you aren't exhausted!! i have 3 under the age of 7. i work night shift so on my days off i'm naturally awake till 1a but the kids DO wear me out!!!

hope i was able to help-good luck
