should i allow my 10 month old daughter visit a relative who has mrsa?
Question:
Answers:
To be honest this is very simply no! the child should not be in the house with an mrsa patient as the child at that age is so susceptible to infection and they have a tendancy to pick up items and put them in their mouths without consideration, which can also lead to infection being passed......... Truly mrsa is on everything we touch even on our hands and bodies, it depends on how virulant the infection is in the area your toddler is entering!MRSA stands for Methycillin resistant staphylococcus aureus which really holds no prisioners and is resilliant to ALL antibiotics so honey please do not take your child into your relatives home unless you are prepared, I'm not trying to put the fear of god in you but your child would be best out of this equation as hard as this may be !
Other Answers:
I certainly would not. MRSA is very dangerous especially for an infant. Wait until your relative has been treated.
NO!!!
No. I heards MRSA is very contagious.
no dont take the chance
What is mrsa?
Only if yoiu want your daughter to be at risk which i don't think you do so the answer is definitely NO.
I'm sure your relative would no way expect you to bring an infant round. Not just for the child's sake, but who wants small children round when they are so poorly anyway? It's not fair on either of them.
No! I used to work in a care home where people had MRSA, and I would really advise against you taking your daughter to visit this person. You can not completely protect your child in this situation and MRSA can be a high factor, contributing to childhood deaths.
Chances are that she will have already been exposed to MRSA many many times already.
The bacteria that starts an MRSA infection is present on everybodies skin already, along with a whole littany of other one celled creepy crawlies.
Do some research on the hygene hypothesis.
