Why do you get sty and how do you get rid of them??

Question:
it's itchy and it hurts when i blink! Please Help Me!

Answers:
The base of the hair follicle of your eyelash is infected;probably because you rubbed your eye with a none-too-clean finger.
Look for the affected eyelash(-it will be most painful at that point) ,get a clean pair of tweezers and pull it out!
Then wash your face with soap and water and go to sleep.ln the morning,it will be almost gone and within 36hours,it will be all over.
Take a couple of aspirin tablets too--these are anti-inflammatory.

Unfortunately, you probably just have to wait it out and let it heal. They are annoying as crap. Keep your eyes moisturized and don't wear contacts so it will heal faster.

I used to get them as a child..an old wives tale is to put a cold wet Tea bag.. on the sty just hold it there for a few minutes.I never used a hot tea bag as sometimes the sty is too sensitive.it used to stop the itching..but you can get ointment now from a pharmacy that helps..

They hurt don't they! I grew out of mine when i was about 12.But if you go to a chemists or a doctors they can give some stuff to put on it. its a fact of life people get stys so you just have to put up with it, and don't touch your eye with anything unclean, even your hands need to be squeeky clean when the medication is applied

Personnal experience It's when the follicle of the eyelashes get blocked or infected. I think there are ointments that can ease the pain/itch until it goes away.

This is essentially a pimple on your eyelid. It's easier to prevent by getting enough vitamins. Vit C and Calcium will help. Increase Vit C and use a warm to hot wash cloth to steam your face with eyes closed. An eye wash using a solution of white powdered Boric Acid as recommended will soothe and speed healing. (This does not require a prescription, and a pharmacist will help explain that it's not a strong acid.)
