has anyone taken LUNESTA and how does it work for you? like it or no, does it help you sleep better?
Question:
Answers:
I have used it to regulate my sleep schedule. After years of being a night owl, I needed to start getting to bed early for work the next morning.
Lunesta works well if you take it 30-45 minutes before bed time and if you don't fight it. (I find that an absence of stimulus is highly effective, IE no reading, no TV, no music.)
Also, keep in mind that it will affect different people differently. It says that you should expect at least 8 hours of sleep. For me, I am groggy if I wake up before then and sometimes it actually takes 9 hours until the effects have completely worn off.
I find that I get a very good nights sleep with it, and feel no side effects (aside from the groggy feeling if I happen to wake early).
In addition, I do not use it every night, only when I can't get to sleep naturally. However, since it is non narcotic, it is less habit-forming than the other pills out there.
If you use it at midnight, expect to wake up around 9 am.
Good luck and I hope this was helpful.

My roommate has taken it. He said the loss of taste sensation wasn't worth the sleep.
My doctor alternates my sleep medication. This prevents addiction and helps to make the medication more affective. Lunesta is mild compared to Ambien. You may want to try Ambien CR. It is designed to give you a quick shot of the medication to put you to sleep and then it slowly desolves during the night so you stay asleep and get a more sound rest. I only take it if I need it..therefore I have only taken 3 times in the past few months. I think its great. The first time I took it, it was around 8pm.I took a shower..approx. 20min after taking the med. In the shower I was feeling groggy. I went to bed and fell fast asleep. I woke up at 6am with no side effects. It was a great nights sleep..Since taking it twice since then, I still feel great in the morning after taking it. ( I have never taken anything before to help me sleep, therefore I have nothing to compare it to for you. ) I recommend it! Hope this helps you!
