I'm on Topamax for migraines. It was original used for seizures, but has since been found useful for different problems such as migraines, bipolar disorder and weight loss. The only problems I have experienced is the tingling in my hands and feet at times, (rarely also in my lips), decreased sweating, increased thirst(not to an unbearable point though)Weight loss is also a side effect. The only one of these that is at all bothersome is the tingling. It almost feels like when your foot falls asleep, but not quite to the same extent. The only thing you really have to be careful about is not to take too much. I accidentally doubled my dosage(forgot I already took it.. I know.. dumba$$) and it caused mental confusion. I was still able to function, but it was a bit disturbing non the less. A friend of mine has also experienced this, we have since coined this feeling "Topastupid".. LOL
I've been on it for years now though, and I don't know what I would do without it. Just follow your doctors instructions and you'll be fine.

I take it for migraines. The side effect I have experienced it loss of appetite and tingling sensation in my legs and feet. It has helped with my migraines.
Topomax is a sleeping tablet.( is he a real doctor) Get a second opinion Normally topamax is for seizure control and migraines. Weight loss can be a side effect of the med though. Can't say I've ever seen anyone with any ill side effects. If you do experience anything new call your doctor right away
