i skip my menstrual periods yearly. help?

Question:
im 16. i admit ive had sexual intercourse but im not constantly sleeping with everyone. the sex was a mistake. im pretty positive im not pregnant. i didnt have any symptoms or whatever. well anyways i skip my periods alot. my mom used to, too. i thought it was normal? i WAS skipping my periods the same way BEFORE i had sex. just not as long of a period. i know its normal just as long as your sure your not pregnant. but does my period become normal(monthly) after i give birth? thats what my mother did. i figured i was okay? help?

Answers:
Stress and weight changes can cause you to skip periods every once in a while. See your doctor if you think it's something else.

You need to see a gynecologist. It is not normal to skip periods even if you are not pregnant.

i skip too. my mom does too and her period normalized after she gave birth..so i guess its ok. :) definitely see your doc. and.you said that your mom had the same problem..so take her too.

I have heard some doctors suggest pregnancy can fix a non-stop period so I would imaging that it could correct an abnormal schedule. However I don't see this a reason to get pregnant. Just enjoy not having a periods every now and then.
