does anyone know a reliable relief of carpal tunnel?
Question:
Answers:
wear a good wrist brace, avoid using the hand and take ibuprofen.
Other Answers:
Surgery or I used braces while I slept and that helped, but now I am just going to have the surgery probably since that is the only real cure.
I struggled with carpal tunnel for years. The best thing that I found was vitamin B 6 supplements and wearing the wrist brace at night. Both can be found at any drug store or department store.
I eventually had surgery on my left hand. It was the best thing that I could've done. It hurt like heck for the first 4-6 weeks, but the symptoms have completely gone away and I am back to normal.
Chiropractic! Seriously. I'm a Education major planning to teach English, and I had to take 5 English courses this past semester. After taking 5 essay exams, my wrist was killing me. My chiropractor fixed it in two visits.
It may sound crazy, but carpal tunnel is not always caused by overuse. The medical profession is finding a correlation between diabetes/obesity and the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome, due to the natural function of insulin.
You may want to check www.hufa.org out. Click on the Symptoms link on the left, and look for muscle pains (carpal tunnel syndrome) and see what it says.
Chiropractic can potentially help and I have seen it first hand. Regular adjustments in conjunction with soft tissue therapy and stretches.

braces may help.
Surgery is very effective, and not that bad.
My first question would be, have you actually been diagnosed with CTS? It's not as common as they would have you believe. Overuse tendinitis is much more common. Your dr should not diagnose carpal tunnel without taking electrodiagnostic studies in addition to conducting a thorough clinical exam.
Regardless, effective treatments don't differ much for CTS or other overuse injuries. Try splinting and anti-inflammatories, as well as applying ice. You can buy a nerve stimulator through a medical supply provider (don't spend more than $100). These trick the pain signals to the brain and also increase circulation. Avoid surgery at all costs. It's very rarely effective.
