What is the best procedure to remove water from (inside) a knee?

Question:
Would it be to have it removed with a needle or surgery? Any suggestions? Any referrals to a doctor anyone? Thanks :)

Answers:
A needle aspiration is a very common method (having the fluid removed with a needle). It is normally numbed with a local anaesthetic first before it is drained.

There are other methods used for other types of swelling around the knee, i.e. Kinesio tape for lower extremity lymphedema, compression garments/stockings/boots for venous insufficiency, electrical stimulation/interferential with ice, etc. If the problem truely is fluid in the knee, then draining it is the easiest solution.

Good luck!

needle to begin

I would never get a referrals from a social site like this one.

Ask someone you can trust such as family doc, Friends, etc.
Go see a doctor and the doc will send you to a specalist. I don't think there are any doc's here
a needle is the easiest and quickest way
I have a great Orthopaedic Surgeon, his name is Dr. Tanner, but he's in Rochester, NY, not sure where you are, but he's awesome. Whenever I have to have it done, they numb my knee, and use a needle to drain the fluid. It hurts a little, but not too bad. Afterward the pain in my knee from the fluid is way better though.
