I haven't read it anywhere but does anyone know of daily-heavy nose bleeds as a side effect of taking Lipitor?

Question:

Answers:
I work as a pharmacy tech and I haven't heard of lipitor causing nose bleeds. Do you take a blood thinner as well eg: warfarin or even a daily low dose aspirin or regular aspirin? These can cause bleeding.

Have you been checked by a doctor? Nose bleeds are a sign of lukemia. Are you tired all the time?

Or is the air too dry? That is another cause of nose bleeds.

Don't worry yourself to death, but have a check up, it's probably not serious but it never hurts to check it out.

Good Luck

Other Answers:
No, that's not a side effect. See your doctor.

there is a simple procedure the dr can do in his office to stop that No it isn't. Are you taking anything else like blood thinners, or possible antihistamines? They might.

COULD BE

Go see your doc! Lipitor can cause liver problems, and the liver is essential in the clotting cascade that happens in your body.

I haven't heard of this in connection with Lipitor.

Are you also taking a medication to prevent blood clots, like aspirin, Plavix, or Coumadin? A medication in that category might be connected with bleeding.

In any case, talk to your doctor. It's not a side effect. My husband had the same thing. It had something to do with the veins in his nose. The doctor sutured the inside of his nose with heat. He no longer has daily nose bleeds.
