I can't sleep! Any tips that don't involve medication/alco.

You probably spend alot of time thinking about problems and other things. Put them aside before you sleep. Lay them away for tomorrow.

1. Don't eat 3 hours before bedtime
2. Use your bed only for sleeping, so when you go to be, your body will automatically go into "sleep" mode
3. Take a warm bath in the evening to relax and induce sleep
4. Put a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow and around the place your head will be resting whilse sleeping. It is scientifically proven to induce sleep.
5. Lower the lights closer to sleeping time (about 1 hour before) to tell your body that it is time to sleep. Darkness helps induce sleep.
6. Read a light and easy book before sleeping. No murder or thrillers please.
7. No TV 2 hours before bed. It hypes up the brain and disturbs sleep.
8. Try not to watch frightening movies or read firghtening books.
9. Do not dwell on the past and your issues.
10. Tell your body to relax when lying on the bed. Speak to each body part to relax and brerathe deeply.
11. Do not take caffiene after noon.
12. Do not exercise in the evening. This will disrupt sleep.
13. Do not drink water 1.5 hours before sleep.
14. Clear your mind, body, soul and just relax.

Hope I helped! I used to have sleeping problems as well, mostly it was because I kept thinking and thinking about everything. So, relax!
Read a book if you cant sleep. Don't get worked up if you cant sleep cause that will just prevent you from sleeping even more! So, take your mind off from thinking "I must sleep" and think about pleasant scenes such as you at the beach, looking out into the ocean, lying on the beach-bench, and dozing off..

if not white noise, try a hypnotism tape or cd. Even if you are not suceptible to hypnosis the actual process by which the attempt to put you under is a great relaxation technique.

I dont drink or do drugs & that is the only thing that really works for me. Just a thought!
