Does exposure to cold weather cause sickness or is that an old wives tale?
Question:
Answers:
Contact with other people causes sickness. During cold weather months, we are often confined to warmer areas, along with other people. Being around them causes us to be sick, not the cold weather.
However, any type of stress affects our immune system strength; cold weather included.
Other Answers:
No Cold weather does not cause illness. You spend more time indoors durring the winter and this is one reason why you might get sick more often. Besides a runny nose nothing really will happend long term
When you spend a lot of time in cold weather, it lowers your immune system making you more susceptible to the germies that are out there. Plus you are in much closer proximity to other people as you spend more time indoors in winter, so that opens you to exposure to colds and viruses.
in a way it's true cold weather puts more stress on your system , making you more vulnerable to what ever is out there.
thats why more people get colds and flu during the winter months
