Pain in the left arm ?
Question:
My cousin said something about taking aspirins, would help me out with it. But heart problems runs real bad on my father side. But I don't have enuf money to see a good doctor. I went to the hospital about it.
Not too long after it started. But they claim, that it was carporl tunnel . I hope I spell that right. But anyway, I started taking aspirins, and after a while my arm quit hurting. Now since I laid off of them. My arms been hurting non stop ever since. Sometimes feel tired and heavy on that one arm.
Can anyone tell me, what they think it might be ?
Answers:
well.a few of my thoughts: the 'heavy' feeling is usually a sign of circulation problems, as is the numbness (shaking it would possibly increase the cirulation and cause the symptom to decrease) Aspirin probably helped because it can 'thin' the blood and help in that way, plus it's an anti-inflammatory that helps with pain and swelling. Circulation problems could have a number of causes, the one that worries me is a possibility of a blood clot - which can break away, move through your blood and lodge in your lungs or brain.
However. It's very possible it IS carpal tunnel syndrome.the numbness in the hand is one of the symptoms for that as well. I wouldn't rule out a mild heart attack, although the arm pain is usually accompanied by chest pain and tightness (often described as an elephant sitting on your chest).
Do you have a regular family practice doctor? make an appointment with them, tell them about the carpal tunnel diagnosis as well as the aspirin and any other meds you have been taking. If they feel there's reason to suspect your heart, they may decide to run some tests on you. You mention not having money enough to see a doctor.try calling the county health department - they are cheaper and can even set the price of your exam depending on your income (ie the 'sliding scale'), with your family history of health problems, I'd say don't put it off any longer.

You MUST see a doctor.
could just be something pressing on a nerve, causing it to feel tingly. you should go to the doctor though cuz it could be as serious as a blood clot. This is dangerous. Please just go back to whatever emergency room or free clinic that is around you and be reevaluated. To me, the heart is not something to mess around with, and certainly you do not want to be in trouble with your heart as well. Maybe it is carpal tunnel.. but it could also be a pinched nerve in your neck, or problem with some other nerve conduction system. There are free clinincs and ER's that could help you if you can not afford a doc, but please just go in and get looked at again to rule out anything that can't be solved with taking an aspirin.
im having the same problems but i went to my dr. after having a nerve test done, they said mine was comming from my nerve problem which started in my back. you really need to have it checked, it could be that or something serious, good luck and see someone.
you need to go to the doctor.
