Note to Colorado"Crude": Saying that someone has done something stupid to themselves, when they have a well known medical condition, is not only rude, but non-productive, and to my thinking defeats the purpose of the answers forum - this is about supporting people, not putting them down. You clearly have NO idea what you're talking about, and If you want to be that childish, I'd suggest the yahoo chat rooms, where you can hang out with similarly mean and immature types and insult people to your heart's content, burnt little cinder that it may be. You have no business giving uninformed and insulting answers like that here.
I'm reporting your answer for abuse, and will also report you for abuse if you get into my e-mail. I'd suggest that you stay OUT.

Concerning the answer, may I first apologize for the rudeness you encountered in that first response, it was uncalled for.
I've known hundreds, maybe thousands, of women over the years who wore nothing but 3" or higher heels most of the time, and don't know anyone who had anything more than bunions or heel spurs. I wore them myself for 30 years with litttle more than achey feet, the occasional blister or inflamed bunion, and hot rough soles to show for it.
You're describing the symptoms of pronation, a condition in which the medial bones in your feet turn inward and downward, and your weight rests on the inner edge of your sole. You may have aggravated it by wearing heels, but you did not cause it by doing so. It's simply a medical condition which some people have. It's not something that you can help having, but it will worsen over time without treatment.
You DO need to see a podiatrist ASAP, before it gets worse. A quick google search seems to indicate that the most common treatment for pronation is custom made orthotics, or shoe inserts, to correct the way that you walk. I found nothing about types of shoes that you need to wear, but all the shoes pictured were flats. Whether you can continue to wear heels or not is something that you need to discuss with your podiatrist.
Luckily for you, even if you have to wear flats, you'll find that the better shoes have some lovely styles in flats which imitate the lines of heels, and enhance the appearance of your legs just as nicely, without the discomfort. They often use a small heel and a
platform front, and I've found some charming "flats" that are simply beautiful on the foot and leg.
Good luck with your treatment. It can lead to your ankles and knees turning in as well, and I'd strongly suggest that you find a good podiatrist now, while they can still prevent that. Best wishes.
HHMMMMMMMMM..... It does sound like you ruined your feet. That was a stupid stupid thing to do!!
