When a person has a G-tube?


Question:
When a person has a g-tube can they feel the food going in or the plus on their stomach?

Answers:
I have done nursing for awhile now a couple of years..if it sit right they don't feel the tube its self. when the food goes in its warm felling at 1st and most G tubes are on a timer what the Dr prescribes how many cc. but they do get full like they had a meal.my God daughter has one and i have cleaned hers,she 13 yrs old special needs when i did home care some of my elderly said they felt the warm felling at 1st but not the hole time just when it was started . hope i helped for more info go to www MED .com look it up it could help more or ask the dr for more info good luck

It's just liquid. I've seen people who did feel some discomfort and some who didn't. A lot has to do with the prople doing the feedings. NG tubes are no fun at any time, especially when they are going down.
