I know I've talked about this before but I'm in a lot of pain from a?

Question:
replaced hip and a soon to be replaced knee. The knee is going to be done in about 6 weeks and I'm REALLY not looking forward to it at all. No meds work for me.not morphine, not fentanyl, not oxycodone or contin, etc..why don't narcotics work for me and what can I do in the hospital (and nursing home afterwards cuz I live alone.no choice there..ick!) that will relieve some of this horrible pain?? They are giving me so much morphine in the hospital that my breathing slows way down and they have to take me off some of it so yes, they ARE giving me enough meds. Anyone have any SERIOUS suggestions?

Answers:
Have you tried a Pain clinic? They use different types of things to control pain, not just pills. Some of my patients have had excellent results going to a Pain Clinic.

Other Answers:
Try Hypnosis. Pain is a warning light that the body uses to alert you of damage. It can be turned off. It is currently successfully used with child birth, dentistry, and some surgeries. Most Hypnotherapists are certified for pain control. Good luck to you.

If you have experienced much hardship and/or pain in your life, have you explored the option of moving to a better location? This works - especially if you move more than 400 miles from your current location.

I have lived in several different states and found that certain locations offered hardship / lonliness / no money, whereas other places made it easy for me to find friends / money / a feeling of happiness, etc.
