What can I put on rugburns to make them stop burning?

Question:
I have pretty bad rugburns on my knees and they hurt! I have tried ice and several cremes but nothing is working!

What can I put on them? Should I bandage them or keep them uncovered?

Answers:
1. Wash the area with warm water and **hand pump (antibacterial) soap. Rinse all the soap off. Dry the area with a clean paper towel verses a regular towel. ( Regular bath towels can harbor a lot of bacteria!)..You can also use cotton swabs to wash the area or dry it.

2. Apply ice (put it in a baggy then wrap the baggy with a towel) to the rug burned area. This helps numb the pain and sting out of your skin. Leave the ice on for 5 - 10 minutes, then remove it for 10 minutes, then re-apply if needed. (on and off is to prevent frost bite like damage to the skin).

3. Apply A & D Ointment for the next few days onto the *rug* burned area of your skin. (Never apply anything to a flame or heat burn without consulting a Doctor first).

A & D ointment is very good for everything from diaper rash to rug burned skin. It provides a barrier to keep bacteria out, plus also helps heal the tissue you've damaged.

**Avoid using bar soap since it contains so much bacteria.

Other Answers:
rash cream
or aloe

Hmmmm, neosporin and bandaids should do the trick. And just how did you get rug burns on your knees anyhow? OUCH< Try to stay off the knees but aveeno cream works wonders or aloe like the kind you would use for sunburn.

put ice on them..and i guess a product for burns..maybe hydrocortizone

Get some Attagirl kneepads. :^)

try running some cool water over the burns, this typically helps. Also you may take some aspirin to help relieve the burning and inflamation Lanacaine will do wonders if you can find it.

Use the semen that just came out. It will stop the burning and moisturize your knees.

solarcaine for sunburn it has numbing agents and anti-infectives

next time your on all fours or just two, wear knee pads. But until then use some type of ointment. bandage it ,or you may infect disease
