does anyone find over the counter medicines addictive ?
Question:
Answers:
Some OTC's (over the counter medicines) are addictive if you take too many over a long period of time.
I was addicted to coproxamol (distalgesic) the daily limit was 12 tablets, I was taking 8 at a time just to get slight relief from a headache.
I reached the stage where I was taking so many a day I couldn't think through all the cotton wool in my head.
Solpadeine contains codeine which you can be addicted to but you should never go cold turkey to come off it, it has to be done gradually.

Ny-Quil because it puts me to sleep
Sure if you actually believe that they do. Otc's are non-habit forming,if they could be than they wouldnt be available over the counter. It's in you're head. Addictive can be used in a number of ways to describe things. Nasal sprays can give a rebound effect. Some conditions give otherproblems that are in that class. Generally, the ones with actual addictive qualites are reserved for prescription
